Commonly known as the Seltene Monstera or the Monstera Siltepecana, part of the aroid family, this fast-growing vine is native to Mexico and Central America and was discovered in 1950. With its extravagant silvery-grey leaves and contrasting deep green veins, this plant is sure to make a statement in your home! With maturity the leaves will get a deeper green and eventually have fenestrations.
Being that it’s from a subtropical environment, it thrives in high humidity, warm temperatures, medium to bright indirect light and can vine/climb up to about 5 ft. indoors. This makes them great to be potted with a trellis and put in a brightly lit room in your house! Over time this plant may lose some leaves and/or get leggy, but don’t be alarmed, this is just a natural occurrence in the plant’s life cycle. It could also be trying to tell you it needs a change in its care routine!
