The Ctenanthe Lubbersiana is a part of the Marantaceae family, an evergreen perennial with bamboo-like stems and long green leaves, veined and spotted with cream and gold. Just like the prayer plant, this plant will fold up its leaves at night and slowly “bloom” open again as the sun comes up. These are a fantastic addition for those looking to grow their air purifier plant collection!

CTENANTHE LUBBERSIANA CARE
LIGHT
In the wild, these plants will grow under tree canopies, so it’s used to receiving some stippled light. Therefore, when grown indoors, the Ctenanthe Lubbersiana needs bright to medium indirect light. Anything less may cause the leaves to turn pale and lose variegation.
WATER
These plants originate from a rainforest, so it looooves to thrive in wet conditions – and there’s a thin line between nice and moist and waterlogged soil! Water when the top 2 inches of the soil is dry.
Sometimes tap water can have fluoride and other salts. The easiest way to avoid adding those salts and minerals to the soil is to use rainwater or fill your watering can and let it sit out for a day or so before watering.
GROWTH HABITS
When grown as a houseplant, the Ctenanthe Lubbersiana can reach around 3 feet tall and 4 feet wide.
