This type of prickly pear cactus is short and stacked, perfect for anyone that wants a cute addition to their collection of cactuses or using it to complement a very bright spot!
It is currently smooth without pricks but it can grow pricks after settling into a new environment! The prickly pear cactus is also pet-safe, so you won’t need to be paranoid about your fuzzy friends nibbling on this plant! But don’t go feeding them this for dinner!
Like any other cactuses, the prickly pears are highly drought tolerant and can withstand (and likes) a good deal of harsh direct light! Your spot will have to be at least naturally well lit to support this plant! Give it a thorough watering when the first 2-3 inches of the soil is very dry, since it is drought tolerant, err on the side of caution when you’re deciding whether or not to water! (that should translate to water once every 3 weeks or so)
