Large Calathea Setosa

Commonly known as the Calathea ‘Compactstar’, this intermediate-level plant is native to the tropical Americas. With its stunning, long, red-stemmed, glossy, silver and green striped leaves, the Calathea Setosa will bring the jungle to your space!

Being that it’s from a tropical environment, it thrives in high humidity, warm temperatures, consistently moist, but not wet/soggy soil, medium to indirect bright light and will grow up to 3 to 7 ft. tall indoors. This makes them great to place in a brightly lit spot in a high humidity room such as a bathroom or kitchen! Over time this plant may lose some of its lower leaves, but don’t be alarmed, this is just a natural occurrence in the plant’s life cycle! If it starts to get a bit leggy, prune back the longer growth and it will promote new, more compact growth!
